There are some simple tasks to set for yourself if you want to manage or eliminate the mold and allergens in your house. In addition to regular house upkeep and spring cleaning, make sure to call your local Gaithersburg HVAC company.

It’s springtime, and the air is fresh and cool, but this isn’t a license to open the windows and air out the house. This can do more harm than good as outside pollen and dust comes into the house instead of being blown out. You should keep in mind, however, that keeping doors and windows tightly sealed won’t do any good if the dust, mites, and mold are already in your home. Regular vacuuming and dusting can help keep these allergens at bay. And don’t forget to change the filter in your HVAC system.

Check in with your local heating and air conditioning company, as well. They can check your wireless thermostat, pellet stove, and entire HVAC system to be sure it’s running at full capacity. They can also test the Indoor Air Quality of your home to ensure that harmful exhaust chemicals from your stoves or improper ventilation aren’t impairing your health.
